Daily reflection _ our faith looks to God

OUR FAITH LOOKS TO GOD
"Lay all your cares about the future trustingly in God's hands, and let yourself be guided by the Lord just like a little child." (St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross)
Deacon John Ruscheinsky
God's responses often stick out in interactions, feelings, and intuitions throughout the day. Perhaps in those waiting moments the true invitation is to pay attention in faith, and trust in the slow work of God. In today's Gospel, our Lord tells us, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed" (Mt 17:20) you would be able to move mountains and more. "Mustard seed" is simply a biblical way to describe something as small as any of us can imagine, the very opposite of a fleet of heavy construction trucks.
The key to faith, Jesus Christ says, is not whether we can measure it or weigh it or impress someone with its greatness. The important thing is the size of our God - our heavenly Father. Our Father is very patient with us as we continue our earthly journey, so we can grow in faith by knowing, sharing, and living in His great love.
The Church honors St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, Virgin and Martyr. She wrote, "Lay all your cares about the future trustingly in God's hands, and let yourself be guided by the Lord just like a little child."
