Daily reflection _ we need respectful humility

WE NEED RESPECTFUL HUMILITY
Jesus' anger is directed toward sin and everything which hinders us from doing the will of our heavenly Father and receiving His blessing.
Deacon John Ruscheinsky
In the Lord's first speech addressed to Job out of the storm, the command of the Lord is heard and heeded by the morning, which at dawn colors the earth "as though it were a garment," but withholds light from sinners and shatters their pride, shaking them from the surface of the earth. In today's Gospel, Jesus Christ says that the same fate will befall Chorazin, Bethsaida and Capernaum. They will "go down to the netherworld" because they have rejected the Word of Life.
The Scripture readings call us, in turn, to heed those whom Jesus has sent to speak His Word to us. To hear them is to hear Him, and the One who sent him. To reject them is to reject Him and the one who sent him.
God's Word is life-giving and it saves us from destruction - the destruction of our spirits as well as our bodies. Jesus' anger is directed toward sin and everything which hinders us from doing the will of our heavenly Father and receiving His blessing. In love He calls us to walk in His way of truth, mercy, justice and holiness.
Do you receive God's Word with faith or with doubt?
