Daily Reflection _ saturday of 27th week OT

THROUGH FAITH
WE ARE CHILDREN OF GOD
In the Responsorial Psalm we acclaim, "The Lord remembers His Covenant for ever" (Ps 105:8a). The Lord is our strength; we seek always to serve Him. The Lord is our God (Cf. Ps 105:4, 7)!
Our goal in life, the very reason for which we were created, is to be in union with our heavenly Father. We were made for Him and our hearts are restless until they rest in God (Cf. St. Augustine). We are challenged daily to seek the Will of God and to enter into a new day knowing that we are a part of a new family, a family of "saints" here on earth and in heaven. Jesus Christ changes the order of relationships and shows that true family is not just a matter of flesh and blood. As God's children He transforms our relationships and brings a new order of loyalty and dignity to all life, which He has created for the Kingdom of heaven.
Being in union with our heavenly Father brings blessedness to our lives, which also means happiness! In our Gospel Acclamation we pray, "Blessed are those who hear the Word of God and observe It" (Lk 11:28). When it comes to blessedness, Mary has no lock on God's abundant graces. Jesus made it clear that blessedness comes from living according to the Word of God - as His Mother did - and is available to all of us. Sure, we know that our Mother Mary is most blessed, but not only because she was the Virgin Mother of God. She is blessed because she also put her life at the total service of God's Word. Her "Yes" was a big response!
