Daily reflection _ grow in hope

GROW IN HOPE
Advancing in age and the disappointments of life can easily make us cynical and hopeless... Anna's hope in our heavenly Father and His promises grew with age!
Deacon John Ruscheinsky
Hope grows with prayer and perseverance. Anna was pre-eminently a woman of great hope and faith as we can see in her expectation that God would fulfill all His promises. Filled with the Gift of the Holy Spirit, she was found daily in the house of God, attending to Him in prayer and speaking prophetically to others about God's promise to send a Savior. She is a model of all goodness for all believers as we advance in age.
Advancing in age and the disappointments of life can easily make us cynical and hopeless if we do not have our hope placed in God. Anna's hope in our heavenly Father and His promises grew with age! She never ceased to worship Him in faith and to pray in hope. Her hope and faith in His promises increased her zeal and fervor in prayer and service of God's people.
Too many of us fail to appreciate the insights and wisdom that can be gained from the elderly, often dismissing them as too garrulous and tedious. On the other hand, the elderly can find inspiration in Anna, imitating her brevity of speech, devotion, and generosity in being willing to serve in the temple at her advanced age. This is truly something for each of us to think about today. What elderly person has God brought into your life that has helped you to gain insight and wisdom on your journey to help you in your transformation?
And how do we grow in hope?
