Daily reflection _ it is more blessed to give than to receive

IT IS MORE BLESSED
to give than to receive
For taking pride in all you do and giving it your best,
May you be forever blessed.
Deacon John Ruscheinsky
In today's first reading from the Book of Wisdom, we read, "For from the greatness and the beauty of created things their original Author, by analogy, is seen" (Wis 13:5). Knowledge is a powerful thing and St. Albert the Great, who we honor today, as well as the scholastics, never shielded away from pursuing the truth. Pope Benedict XVI referred to St. Albert the Great during his General Audience in March 2010. He stated, "St. Albert shows us that faith is not opposed to reason, and that the created world can be seen as a 'book' written by God and capable of being 'read' in its own way by the various sciences." So, we are able to see the image of the fruits faith can produce. It can be a good read!
We hear Jesus address us in today's Communion Antiphon: "It was not you who chose Me, says, the Lord, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last" (cf. Jn 15:16). We have each been called by Jesus Christ to evangelize, and to fulfill the mission we've been given - to bear "fruit that will last!" I would like to share this prayer of blessing with you, which was passed on to me by someone special:
For bringing warmth and comfort into everything you do,
For finding time to add an extra touch of kindness too,
For patience in the midst of busy hours with little rest,
For taking pride in all you do and giving it your best,
May you be forever blessed.
May you pass it on too!
