Daily reflection _ friends of God

FRIENDS OF GOD
For us men and for our salvation He came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man" (Nicene Creed).
Deacon John Ruscheinsky
To be a friend of God, all that's required is to cultivate wisdom and goodness in our lives. Seeking wisdom means being in pursuit of what is "intelligent, holy, unique, manifold, subtle, agile, clear" (Wis 7:23) and a whole lot more, as the Book of Wisdom exuberantly details for us! We are called to preserve the integrity of the Faith and to defend the unity of the Church, today, which was also needed in the early Church as well. Jesus Christ is one Person with two united natures, divine and human like us. That is why we pray, "I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ...God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God... For us men and for our salvation He came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man" (Nicene Creed).
In the Book of Wisdom, we hear, "For wisdom is the refulgence of eternal light, the spotless mirror of the power of God, the image of His goodness. And she, who is one, can do all things, and renews everything while herself perduring; And passing into holy souls from age to age, wisdom produces friends of God and prophets" (Wis 7: 26-27). This will show us, throughout history, the richness of our Faith.
Today, we need to pray for our Church and Its integrity; to bring unity to all God's People. As we read in the Responsorial Psalm, "Your Word is forever, O Lord... Let my soul live to praise You, and may Your ordinances help me" (Ps 119:89a, 175). For we are friends of God!
