Daily reflection _ accountability

"ACCOUNTABILITY"
They must be accountable, responsible for what they do with what they've been given.
Deacon John Ruscheinsky
Our Christian belief in our heavenly Father's initiative never means that our accountability is wiped out or taken away. The stories we hear throughout the week of the vigorous opposition of the Maccabees to their persecutors shows us that what God does for us does not take away what we can and must do for Him. The story in the Gospel of Luke today tells us about what the new king expects from his team illustrates the same point; they must be accountable, responsible for what they do with what they've been given. They need to use there talents/gifts and make them multiply and do good work.
Today's parable reveals something important about how our heavenly Father works His plan and purpose for all His people. The parable speaks about both trusting people and for people to be faithful and reliable in the use of money entrusted to them.
Points to Pray and Ponder: Jesus Christ offers us a kingdom of justice, love and peace and He calls us to live as citizens with Him. God honors those of us who use our talents and gifts for doing good work. May we be faithful with even a little so we can be trusted with more! Then our joy will be full (Ps 17.)
