Daily reflection _ a rich life

A RICH LIFE
Life is a gift that grows richer the more we give it in service to others!
Deacon John Ruscheinsky
Let us carefully listen to Jesus' words in the Gospel today: "Take care to guard against all greed, for though one may be rich, one's life does not consist of possessions" (Lk 12:15). Throughout this month we have remembered and reflected upon the many saints whose lives are examples of service, and some of which required that they give everything, including their lives. Their stories give us courage and strength to stay on the right path in our Faith. I believe they died very rich! For "blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven" (Mt 5:3).
Jesus indicates that true richness must be rooted in what matters to God. For us, what matters to God is revealed through the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. Serving others means realizing that somehow we are all connected and we share mutual responsibility for one another's well being.
